Show PHIS HELD 81 WEBER JPUBLICffliS Interest Is Great and Attendance At-tendance at the Gatherings Is Unusually Large. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Sept. 17. Because of the numerous nu-merous voters that have announced themselves as candidates for various nominations, the Republican primaries held throughout Weber county tonight developed more yinn the usual amount of interest. There was a large representation representa-tion of voters in nearly all of tjie seventeen seven-teen city districts and enough voters were on hand to name delegates in many of the country districts. The countv convention will be held in this citv at 10 o clock next Saturdav. Few of the delegates will go into the county convention with definite instructions, instruc-tions, buw the attempts of district leaders lead-ers to put over slates in the citv produced pro-duced some lively encounters. The primary pri-mary m the Second citv district of the First ward developed nothing less than a small riot. W. L. Anderson was named as chairman, against the wishes of Mrs. Alice Collins, the acknowledged Republican Republi-can leader in the district. Anderson was backed by William Critchlow. After an hour of wrangling over the nomination of candidates for the delegation. Mrs. Collins and her supporters were successful success-ful in putting over the Collins slate of eight delegates. On the office of sheriff, for which there are four avowed candidates for the nomination, nomi-nation, the indications are that Sheriff ! T. A. DeVine and former Sheriff, B. B. S ilson will have about an equal representation repre-sentation on the first ballot. Police Sergeant Ser-geant O. IT. Mohlman will be third. It I seems, with Deputy Sheriff Eldo Rttter running fourth. This order may be materially ma-terially changed, however, when the vote is taken next Saturday.
