Show CGIiL OPERATORS ISSUE STATEMENT They Announce That Certain Cer-tain Features of President's Peace Plan Are Accepted. DENVER, Colo., Sept. 3 7. Acceptance of certain features of President Wilson's proposal for a three-year truce in the coal miners' strike was -announced late today bv J. F. Welborn, president of the Colorado Fuel & Iron company. The announcement contained the Turther information in-formation that some of the operators had asked for a conference with the president to discuss those provisions of the plan which thev are not prepared to accept. The statement issued by Mr. Welborn follows: fol-lows: The coal operators will make Individual Indi-vidual replies by letter to the president's presi-dent's proposal. Certain features of the plan will be accepted. In addition, addi-tion, a conference with the president has been asked by several of the operators op-erators in order to discuss with him certain practical difficulties in ap-, ap-, plying the proposed plan to local conditions. con-ditions. Mr. Welborn declined to give any further fur-ther informal ion regarding the plans of the operators or to state what features of the president's suggestions wore acceptable ac-ceptable and what ones wore unacceptable unaccepta-ble to the mine owners. A meeting of the operators of the state has been called for Saturday, at which time It is expected that the details of the corporations' attitude toward the peace proposal will be decided. |
