Show Story Is Doubted. GENEVA, via Paris, Sept. IS. 4 a. m. Advices received here say that the report of a big battle at Thann, Alsace, in which 90,000 men were engaged, is un-true. un-true. It Is stated that there are not more than 20,000 German soldiers in Alsace Al-sace and that no more than 10,000 were engaged at Thann. Most of the troops in Alsace and around Belfort have been sent to join the principal German armies. A telegram tele-gram from Basel says that the troops at all the fortresses on the Rhine have been hurried to the front to aid in the battle there. |
