Show Push Organization of Musical Society Much enthusiasm and- an active, vital vi-tal interest is manifest by those who are worlciup to perfect tho orcanizntion of the Musical Art society of Utah. Last Wednesday 's meeting at the Commercial club was inarkod by a strong desire on the- part of the thirty odd present to reach a basis for harmony in work that shall uplift musical tunto by briuging more great imisic to tho city and state. It was generally agreed that the need for such a society is urgent; that only by united effort and united Contributions oi time and money can a city so far removed re-moved from other centers ot population as is Salt Lako, havo enough of the very best. One man, unless ho bo willing to devoto a fortune to art, cannot afford to take tho risk often, even though iu some l'ow instances, after weeks of hard work and much worr', his books show a small margin of profit. The committee in charge of tho move ment met Thursday evening and completed com-pleted tho draft of the proposed con Ktitution und by-laws; also decided upon Homo nominations for tho officers and board of directors. All of these matters mat-ters will be submitted to tho society at a luncheon to be held at the Commercial Commer-cial club at 12:30 Monday, when it is expected that at least fifty mnsiicans and others directly interested wall complete com-plete the details of organization and outline dolinito plans for stato-wido work. |
