Show SCHOOLS IN CONTEST. Bingham and Tooele Pupils Share Honors Hon-ors In Declamation and Debate, Special to The Tribune. BINGHAM, April 11. Honors were divided today in a Clash of eloquence and debating here between the high schools of Bingham and Tooele. A contest In declamation and public address was held In the afternoon. Violet Spiers of Tooele won the contest in declamation and Miss Louise Dudley of Bingham carried car-ried off the honors In public address. This evening tho question. "Resolved, That the prosont tariff law discriminates against the west In favor of the east." was debated by the following students: Delia Copley, Elizabeth Edwards and Etrlck Miller of Bingham and Clarence Baker, Ada Orme and Violet Spiers of Toledo. Bingham won with the affirmative affirma-tive side of the question. The Judges wero Professor C. W Snow of the Unl- verslty of Utah. Attorney R. L. Judfl of Salt Lako, and Mayor F. E. Straup of Bingham. C. L. Countryman acted as chairman of tho afternoon session of the contest and Justice E. E, Dudley of the evening session. The contests were held In the assembly room of the Bingham high school and tho placo was crowded to capacity. |
