WITH the arrival of spring the builders havc becoino active and several handsome .residences .resi-dences are being plauned. Ihiring the past week ground was broken in Westmoreland placo for a new homo of the Swiss chalet type for 0. 0. Dunshee. The house will be erected on a well elevated site, giving an unobstructed view of the city and valley, and will contain two large porches and six rooms on tho ground floor and one largo room imstairs. The bic room on tho second floor will be lighted by eighteen windows and will be used as a billiard and sun room. The living room and dining room will be finishod in hardwood, while tho other rooms will bo finished in a light cream onamol, rubbed to a dull finish. 2klany new and unique- features have been worked out in the details of the building, build-ing, among which is a disappearing bed on the sleeping porch. Work on the now residenco of George T. Badger in Uaxlon . place will be started this wcok. The houso will bo in keeping with the general high-class restrictions of the district, and will have many innovations in its design. Tho walls will bo of brick and plaster and set off with two belt courses and a base of pea-gravol concrete. The first floor will contain a reception room, staircaso hall, living room and dining room, all finished in natural gum wood. The hallt living room, dining room and porch will bo connected with large quadruple French doors, which, when opened, will make practically ono largo room. Tho kitchen and pantry will havo all modorn conveniences, including a sorvant's dining nook, built-in cup boards, bins and cabinots, cooling closet, built-in refrigerator and plate-warmer. The second floor will contain three bedrooms, two bathrooms, three dress ing rooms with wardrobes, built-in dressers, cabinets and closets. Tho sleeping porch will be so arranged ar-ranged that it may ho inclosed during the winter months if ucsirod.
