A ro- Sucst for such action was received from loveruor Ammona today, and ho has been advised that tho conference of westorn governors will bo allowed to present their views ns a body or through a committco, provided it is dono within tho next ton days. It is expected, as a rosult of this action a numbor of westorn governors will appear ap-pear beforo the committee to protest against proposed leasing mcasuros. A careful poll of the houso committee rovcals a majority in favor of a 640-acro 640-acro homestead act, along lines proposed In tho Mondell grazing homestead bill. A majority is opposed to an' measure proposing to loaso grazing lands in the wostl but will probably favor a leasing bill lor oil, gas and coal lands.
