Show SOLDIER IS ACCUSED DF SEBIOIE 0FFE1ISE Charged With Attempting lo Attack a 12-Year-Old Girl Last Friday. H. Fatham, a Fort Douglas soldier, 35 years of age, has beeu positively identified iden-tified by Jessie Aultman, 12 years old, 257 West Fourth South street, as the man who made several attempts to attract at-tract her attention while' she was ou her wuy homo Friday night. Fatham is said to have followed the little girl the entire distance from Second South and State streets to Fourth South and Second Wcsr. streets, catching hold of her several times as she attempted to run from him, and annoying her in man.y ways. Fatham was arrested by the police Friday night. Last night at police hoadquartorg the Aultman girl told Detectives Harlow D. Lyon and Moroni Gillospic that sho was sure Fatham is the man and it is probable prob-able that a complaint charging an attempt at-tempt to attack the girl will db filed against the Boldier tomorrow. ffThe little girl says that the man began following her as" sho started home from Second South and State streets," said the detective last night. "He tried to talk to heivaud she became frightened and started to run and then he caught hold of her and attempted to entice her into a rooming house. "She succeeded in oluding him, but he continued his pursuit, catching up with her three times. Whon sho reached tho corner of Fourth South and Second West street sho met Mr, and Mrs. A. L. Bird, who live at 425 South Second West street. Sho appealed to them for help and they accompanied her to Lor home." Mr. Bird was also at police headquarters headquar-ters last night and positively identified Fatham as the man who was following the little girl. |
