' PROPOSAL TO CHANGE-LAWS CHANGE-LAWS IS VOTED DOWN "Banquet Is Held in the Evening to Celebrate the Work Accomplished. Tho grand lodge of Odd Fellow com-yleted com-yleted its thirty-fifth annual session "Wednesday evening in Odd Follows hall. 1 Tho morning session opened nt 10 o'clock, and i lie largo hall was filled to overflowing with members who wore dominated by the idea of transacting -tho remaining business of tho session in such a manner that Mio thirty-fifth assembly would stand apart as one of tho greatest iu tho history of tho order. Tho first business (hat came, before, "the meeting was the consideration ol 1ho Widows and Orphans homo, which -was.discnssed by the members Tuesday. After a lengthy reconsideration ot the subicct it was finally referred to the lodges throughout the state, together with several ameudments to the present "rand lodge law, which would make possible some of the proposed lcgisla-lion lcgisla-lion regarding the matter. The report of. the committee on tlic plate of tho order was one of the most interesting presented to the mooting, it summarized the progress of the year and made a. number of suggestions fer the advance of tho work which were well received. The- work of tho grand master and that of tho grand secret a ry during the past year was paid a very ' high tribute. Now Officers. Tho report of the committee on elec-iious elec-iious showed the following elected :r Grand master, W. J. Moore of Salt joako r'ity; deputy grand master, John "Y. Morelv of Eureka; grand warden, P. 1 . Christensen of Salt Lake City: grand secretarv, P. A. Simpkin of Salt Lake City; grand treasurer, "W. M. Scott of Salt Lake City; grand representative to B the sovereign grand lodge, Ldward Pearce. During the afternoon session most o. B the time was taken up considering ways. B nieaus and the financial projects of the B session relative to its .progress, and B many methods were suggested which would tend to increase the present of-B of-B ficieucv of the organization. .Inasmuch B as some of these would tend to make a B radical change iu the present laws ot Hj the order, they wero put to a vote of B the members present and were signally j defeated. Iu fact all proposals to B change any of tho existing laws of the Bj body were defeated. At 3:30 o'clock iu the afternoon, Hi there being no further work, tho new Hi officers wore installed. This feature. of B the programme was under the direction of Grand Master A. Stuart, who was ably assisted by Past Grand Masters ICph Homer and II. C. Wardlcigh. Then fl came a most pleasant feature of the B session, a feature that particularly em- pbasizes the ereat teachings of the or-j or-j ganization. This was the presentation Hj to the retiring grand master of a beau- B tiful past grand master collar and also a magnificent jewel, both of which were the gifts of the graud lodge, j Silver Loving Cups. Hj This was followed by the prcscuta-tiou prcscuta-tiou of silver loving cups to the win-B win-B ning lodges in the parado, which took B place Tuesday afternoon. Salt. Lake lodge No. 2 was awarded the first prize cup and Garfield lodge Xo. 40 received Bj second prize cup. B ' The following officers and 'comnut- B tecs -were appointed: Grand marshal, Y. II.
