Show DRINKS CARBOLIC ACID AND EIDJOOI COMES Joseph Heath, Aged 22, Takes Own Life in Fit of Despondency. Special to The Tribune. OGDEX, April 23. In a spell of despondency, de-spondency, duo to ' III health. Joseph Jleaih, the 22-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heath, who reside on Madison Madi-son avenue, drank over an ounco of carbolic car-bolic acid yesterday aftcrnon and died ;t half-hour afterward In terrible agony. Tho young man was afflicted with a disease of an Incurable nature. He had been accustomed to using carbolic acid, applying It externally, and nothing was suspected when he asked for the botlle containing the deadly drug, which was given him by his mother. Sohic time afterward she was attracted by groans from his room upstairs. Jlcath was found lying on his bed In convulsions. Dr. A. S. Condon was sent for, but the poison hnd done Its work, tho young man dying shortly after his arrival. Joseph Heath was a popular young man and had many friends In Ogden. He was born In England, but came to this country coun-try with his parents when he was a few mon lbs of age. His father Is employed as an inspector in the waterworks department de-partment of the city. Funeral services will be held at Larkln's funeral chapel Sunday afternoon at I o'clock. Bishop E. A. Olson of tho Fourth ward will conduct con-duct the services. |
