Heretofore Hereto-fore the only connection which "Dixie land" has had with the rest of tho world has been a poor stage lino from a point on the Salt Lake Koutc in Utah. Tn fact, it has been so greatly isolated that it has been a very undesirable unde-sirable journey to reach it. With the opening of the new auto road, however, this will be changed, and for the first time in its history wSt. George will be connected with tho outside out-side -world. Kenneth C. Kerr, district passenger agent of the Salt Lake Itoiite, left Friday evening for the southern part of the state, where he will be met by IL A. Larson. Together Togeth-er I hey will make, a trip over the new road lo St. George. Mr. Kerr expects to return to this eitv about next Tuns-day. Tuns-day. As an automobile road is nlwavs the forerunner of a railroad, it ought not' to be very long before" St. Georgo is connocted with tho Salt Lake Ifoulo by stool. The auto road in itself will mean much to the development of the southerly part of the state, and will probably bo tho cause of some big irrigation ir-rigation and reclamation projects being undertaken. |
