Show II 01 BUILDINGS OF L D. S. COLLEGE Gymnasium Will Be One of I lie j ! Most Complete West of Chicago. Work on the new buildings of the Ij. ' D. S. college was started Tuesday in earnest, under the direction of Contractor John lloll. It Is understood that the election elec-tion of tho new building Is but the beginning begin-ning of a series of changes and building additions in the old Hiking house block which will remove the unsightly structures struc-tures which havo occupied the place, for a long time and made the lack of Improvement Improve-ment In what many regard as one of tin; hundxorncst sections of the city a soureo of wonder to tourists and mrioslty to many of the residents of the elt.v. Plans for the building havo been completed com-pleted for several months and Indicate that tho new gymnasium will bo one of tho best equipped structures of Its Kind In the Intermotiutaiti country. An especially nttioellvo fouture. that will be brought about by the erection of the new building build-ing will be Ihe tennis courts, which will bo laid out on what was formerly Ihe site of tho old shop. 11 is also understood that the premises now used to accommodate the grocery, meat and clothing departments of the tithing house will bo thoroughly renovated reno-vated and turned over to the use of the college, being used to provide rooms for the biologh-al, zoological and physics classes. There will be a running run-ning track and a visitors' gallery, with seating accommodations for 10CW people, (in the lower floors of tho structure wll be exercise rooms and a swimming pool ::5.7n feet.
