Show ALL WERE PLEASED Members of Butchers and Grocers Association As-sociation Entertain Their Friends. Rather an enjoyable entertainment, was given last evening. In the Electrical orkers hall, undor tho auspices of tho Butchers and Grocers' association, and several hundred people were present It was distinctly a vaudeville performance and was very, evenly balanced and well enjoyed. The talent was supplied entirely bv Mr. James Russell, whose famllv are ail more or less talented In the vaudeville line and who may be classified as a croup of entertainers who play at the smaller towns throughout the country The first Itern on the programme w'as hilled as the Russell Sisters, an "Old Maid." a song and dialogue specialty and was followed by Maronl and T-Tnrfy Russell, a couple of youngsters of twelve and fourteen, who did a rather clever turn In the song and dance variety "Little "Lit-tle NelP Russell, a child of nine, who has appeared several times at the Lyric theater, sang two or three songs, such as "Teasing" and "Johnnie." adopting the method of "playing" to certain spectators spec-tators in a very bewitching way An illustrated song. " 'Noath the Spreading Chestnut Tree." containing some very pretty scenes, was Hung bv Maronl Russell and this was followed by "rvilUS?1" ,e.c,n'rc " Longfellow's Evangeline which was delivered by James Russell. In an Interesting manner and many thought It was the beat turn of the evening. Taken as a whole, the performance was very creditable, and the audience seemed well satisfied with (he evening's enjoyment. |
