Show RESOLUTION IS VETOED Street Supervisor Will Not Pass Upon Completion of Contracts. ' Mayor Ezra Thompson yesterday vetoed ve-toed the resolution adopted bv the City Council la9t Monday night providlnn that hereafter improvement work done In the streets must meot with the approval of the Street. Supervisor before It shall bo accepted by the city. The Mavor's veto is a brief one, and Its text has not. been made public. It Is understood, however that ho takes the ground that the ordinances ordi-nances of the city, as well as all contracts con-tracts for Improvements, provide that the work must be done In a manner satisfactory satis-factory to tho Board of Public Works, and that there Is no necessity for passing it up to the Street Supervisor and therobv engcnderlng the possibility of a conflict of authority between that official and the Board. The Mayor's veto was filed with the City Recorder after tho close of business busi-ness hours. Mayor Thompson approved the action of tho Council in refusing to make a final payment of S3600 to Contractor P. p Kord for sewer work done In 1005 until Mr Ford settles with the city for S15on worth of work done by the Street department de-partment In filling up trenches and otherwise other-wise making the streets passable after ho completed his contracts.
