Show White Pine Property Showing Splendidly as Depth Is Being Gained. ORE OPENED LIBERALLY 1 IN VERY SHORT TIME Company Preparing to Market High-Grade When the Snow Leaves. Although tho management d tlio While Pino company has not- been aet-tially aet-tially developing tho Cherry Creek prop-orticfi prop-orticfi of that organization for moro than thruo months, spending the time prior to December 1 in prospecting the group and erecting the needful build-H build-H tugs, (hero is not a working upon tho whole group without a faco of ore. This fact was vouched for Thursday by Superintendent 0. Weiscr, who is H opening tho properly for tho Salt Lake stockholders. Mr. Weiscr states that up to tho middle of the present mouth the management had not demonstrated H the permanency of the property to his complete satisfaction, hut the present Hj developments more than convince him Hj that this company has a Hue mine. Hj A few days ago tho management ran Hj into an ore body in tho lower, or No. 5, iunncl at a point 320 feet from tho por-HJ por-HJ tal, and at a vertical depth on the vein of 300 feet. At tho time this resource was found the management did not fully realize its importance, and it remained for a lot to be sent to Salt H Lako for assay. Assay returned showed i he valuo of tho Icdgo to' run $80.00 H gold per ton, the sumo being from two and a half to three feet in width. A foot streak in this ledge runs $IS0 per ton. The ore is now being taken out H and placed upon tho dumps preparatory to sending it to the local oro market. An upraise from the lower tunnel, 200 feet from tho portal, has been driven for 100 feel, and lr. Weiscr .states that there are two feet of mill- ing grade ore in this working. At tho H samo time a winze is being sunk upon tho chul o in fino milling grade rock. There is sufficient, milling oro upon tho dumps and available elsewhere upon this property to keep tho mill running for a 3'ear, and the new showings noc only arc adding to the food for this H plniit at a generous rate, but they are H serving to demonstrate t lie jnerits of the resources as depth is gained upon them. The mill will be ready for op- H cration bv March 1, and A. G. l?iscr, a Ihoroughfy competent, mill mnn, at one time connected with the Annie Laurie plant, is in charge at White Pine. j By March 1 Mr. Weiscr expects tho H snow to be gone so that the shipping H oro now piling up can be sent from the HI mine to market. The company has just H completed a new road from the mine to the Nevada Northern tracks that brings H the property within seven miles of the tracks, thus cutting ofT eighteen miles from former conditions. Mr. Weiscr is inore than pleased with the present showings in the mine and great credit is due him for making such splendid progress during the short time he has been in charge of the mine. |
