Show MONTANA'S BIG OUTPUT Gold, Silver, Lead and Copper Production Pro-duction Last Year Over $70,000,000. BUTTE. Mont., Dec. S. Montana produced in the calendar year of 1006 copper, silver, gold and lead to the value of $70,677,533. These values camo from 5,000,000 tons of oro, and the aggregato production wns greater bv $10,086,736 thau tho value of the output of 1001, which was approximately .$10,000,000 greater than for the year before. Last 3'ear's production of metals wus greater in tonnage than the year before, and greater in value than any previous year in the history of the State or Territory. These figures aro taken from the annual report of B. IT. Tatem, assayer in charge of tho United States assay office at Helena, sent to the director of the mint at Washington and released for publication publi-cation today. Great as is tho increase in-crease of tho outnut of 1905 over that of 1901, the increase of the present year over that of 1905 promises prom-ises to be more marked. Tho gold output of 1905 was $20S,-551 $20S,-551 less than that of 1904. The silver output was $1,491,315 less (coinage values) than for 1904. The copper output was $11,754,967 greater and tho lead output $31,635 greater. Mr. Taicm's report says: "The increase in-crease in 1905 is equivalent to moro than 16 per cent over the aggregate value of the output for 1904." |
