Show ATHLETIC COUNCIL TO MET. Important Matters Pertaining to Athletics Ath-letics Will Be Discussed. Tho athletic council of the University of' Utah will hold a meeting this morning to decide what stand shall be taken regarding re-garding the matters that arc to be discussed dis-cussed at the big Rocky Mountain con- i ferenee that It to be hid at the school tomorrow afternoon. Besides this the council will take steps to definitely settle set-tle the schedule of games for the track team during the coming season. At present no definite dates have been set for the contests of the spring. For the last two years dual meets have been held with the E. Y. U. of Provo. but the contract was only for two years and this expired last year. The question of bringing one of the Colorado schools t Suit Lake or making a. trip to Colorado will no dubt be definitely defi-nitely settled The State School of Mines and "Colorado College are the two schools with whom this quesLlon has been opened. It Is also a matter of conjecture as to whether there will he a State meet held this year in which the University will participate, as the school did not enter the State Interschoolastlc lengue that was organized last fall. The managers of the Interclass fool-ball fool-ball teams will also Hold a meeting today to-day to complete the schedule of the Inter-ciasr. Inter-ciasr. series of football contests that are to be held in February for the silver trophy offered by the class of 'OS to the winners of this series. Preparation for these contests have not been very extensive ex-tensive owing, perhaps, to the snow more than any other single thing. A couple of weeks ago teams from the various classes were all out doing active work. The social season struck the school about the time of the snowfall nnd the two combined com-bined have rather put a stop to active practicing, but the athletic board expects ex-pects io bring on the contests and make them good and lively. |
