Show WILL TAKE TESTIMONY Senate Arranges to Thresh Out Details of Brownsville Affair. WASHINGTON Jan. 21. Testlmony concerning the affray at Brownsville will be taken by the full Senate Committee on Military Affairs, beginning February 4. Subpoenas will be Issued at once for officers of-ficers of tho discharged Negro battalion, and possibly some of the enlisted men. As the court-martial of some of the men involved will bo held in Texas upon the same date, tho committee may examine ex-amine part of iheso men prior to February Febru-ary 1. No counsel will bo permitted to attend the hearings representing any of the parties Interested. In order to expedite ex-pedite the taking of testimony, however, it was agreed that some member of the, committee, probably Senator Foraker, will conduct the case. Insofar as It Is a trial, on behalf of the enlisted men. The question of sending a sub-commit-tee to Brownsville was discussed, but no decision reached. Senator Warren said that matter could be taken up at another an-other lime.
