The party of Eastern land "buyers that visited the .lands of the Abraham Irrigation Canal company in' Millard county this week, mentioned exclusively exclusive-ly in The Tribune of 'Wednesday morning, morn-ing, have all returned, and so" highly pleased were they with the land, its quality, location and price, that they selected three sections before leaving the premises, and Thursday purchased the fame outright on their return to the ollices of tho company in Salt Lake. This indicates that "Fitzgerald Bros. & Landreth seem inclined to do business. At the rate this land is going go-ing now. all that vast portion under the Abraham Canal will have been disposed dis-posed of within a year. Of the three sections purchased, George N. Middendorf purchased one full section. lie had no questions to ask, and looked upon it as tho best investment he could possibly make. His firm intends to devote the land to 'the growing of asparagus, and the work of improving will begin with the opening of ih season. They will erect a canning factory, and expect to make it the largest factory of tho kind in the country. John Ijandreth purchased for a Sheboygan, She-boygan, Wis., party a section under the canal. The intention of 4 ho purchasers is to establish a dairy farm and cheese factory. Three men from Nebraska City, Neb., each bought a quarter section sec-tion for the purpose of raising alfalfa for hay and seed. A. T. Daniels of Topeka. Kan., bought a quarter section for general farming purposes. The introduction of a steam plow is now being seriously considered by the parties, to be used in breaking up the land. It is said to be the intention of all purchasers of land down there to got as much of the land under cultivation culti-vation this year as possible. |
