William Han-ley, Han-ley, against whom a charge of robbery has been preferred by R. M. Edmunds, the saloon' man of Stockton, is now en-joj-iug his liberty under bonds, having been arrested shorth' after the offense is alleged to have been committed. His hearing was original' set for Thursday, Thurs-day, .but Hanley. took a change of venue from the Stockton to the Tooele' court, and his trial will be held at the latter place next Saturday, with County Coun-ty Attorney J. B. Gordon, of Tooele count-, and District Attorney Loof-bourrow, Loof-bourrow, of-"Salt -baker conducting the prosecution. Hanley is accused Of Laving held up and robbed his former employer. R. M. Kdmnnds, on the morning of January 17. securing $125 in currency. Ed-muuds Ed-muuds had just taken the money from the safe in his saloon Tt was "his intention in-tention to take the money to Salt Lake for deposit; in addition to about $1000 in currency, which he carried in his overcoat pocket. As he turned about to close the door of the safe, he looked into the barrel of a revolver and was commanded to surrender the money a demand with which he complied immediately. im-mediately. Edmunds went to Salt Lake and, after consulting District Attorney Attor-ney Loofbourrow, secured Hanley 's arrest ar-rest through the Tooele county officers. |
