Tho recently discovered reptllo known as tho cabbago snake, which has caused many deaths In the Southern States, has mado Its appear-anco appear-anco In tho North. It was discovered by Mrs. Jame3 Shlsher of Freeland whllo making her winter's supply of sauorkraut from cabbago purchased from a Butler Vallcv farmer. Tho serpent Is over a foot long, of whitish color, and nt a distance resembles an ordinary white thread, but under the microscope it Is uniformly spotted with dark green spots. The head, eyes and tail of tho snake aro plainly developed. Certain species of the adder nest and lay their eggs in the cabbago heads, and It Is behoved that tho specimens found In cabbages In different parts of tho country aro hatched from the adder's eggs and will develop Into snakes of that species which aro very poisonous.
