Show LODGE REPLIES TO PARKER. Denounces Attack of Latter Upon Chairman Cortelyou. NEWARK. N. J , Nov. 1, Senator Lodge of Massachusetts spoke hero tonight to-night in tho Kruger auditorium. Scnatoi Lodge said that tho attacks made by the Democrats on Chalrmun Cortelyou of tho Republican National committee were base and slanderous. In answer to that portion por-tion of Judgo Parker's speech at Madison Square Garden Inst night, referring to Mr. Cortolyou. Senator Lodgo said: "Tho speoch made last night by Judge Parker at Madison Squaro Garden in tho m'dst of red fire and well-drilled applause from tho Tammany crowd, you will find, consists chiefly of saying in fair weather that the sky Is blue, tho grass Is green, that it Is good tp bo good and bad to bo bad, and that vlrtuo Is better than vice.
