CONDITIONS AT FiRE STATION None of the Firemen Have Symptoms Symp-toms of Smallpox The members of the lire department headquarters were considerably annoyed an-noyed yesterday over the statement that among them were a couple 01 suspected sus-pected cases of smallpox As a matter mat-ter of fact said one of the members yesterday we were never better In our lives than now There Is not a man who Is even ailing Dr Wltcher who Is the physician of the department says he Is unable to account for such a report getting out as be has been watching his charges very closely 1 have never Intimated he said last evening that any one of all the members showed the slightest Illness At No 2 however there Is a decided Inclination to break out on the slightest slight-est provocation and a fire would be looked upon as a happy event As a result of the rumor the telephone tele-phone of the two stations were kept ringing most of the day yesterday friends of the Imprisoned firemen being anxious to learn of their exact condition condi-tion The report that Cnpt Workman who was Injured a couple of months ago had been allowed to go home Is I untrue un-true lie has received a setback owing to his Injuries being bruised but he is holding his own with the rest of them I
