Show ENTERTAINED AF FEAST I I Sixth Annual Dinner American Chamber Commerce Paris i Paris Jan 20Th sixth annual dinner < ncr and meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce in Paris was held tonight at the restaurant Bon Valet and proved the most successful ever held In point of attendance there being present 150 members and a few 1 invited guests including United States I ConsulGencral John K God and the staff of the consulate and Prof Benjamin Benja-min Woodward assistant United States commissioner to the Paris exposition Gen Horace Porter United States Em bassador was unable to be present owing to a previous engagement As a mark of the esteem of the members mem-bers and in recognition of the energy and success of the administration of affairs af-fairs of the chamber under Henry Pearlrcc he was presented with an emblem em-blem of the Legion of Honor set in brilliants he having bton made a Chevalier of the Legion by the French Government in October last for his active ac-tive participation In the negotiations of the FrancoAmerican commercial treaty Mr Pear tree replied to the presentation presenta-tion address in a gracious speech In the speeches many approving references re-ferences Were made to the reciprocity treaty between the two countries and the hope of Its ratification was frequently fre-quently expressed |
