CANDIDACY OF DEVINE Firo Chiefs Attitude With Reference Refer-ence to Nomination Friends of Fire Chief James Devise announced yesterday that Mr Devise would be candidate for the Republican Repub-lican nomination for Congress at the coming State convention Mr Devine when approached In regard to the matter mat-ter yesterday admitted that many of his friends seemed to be anxious for him to enter the race but he said It was too early to make a statement yet and that ho had not decided whether he would be a candidate He said ho had the assurance of many men piom Incnt in the party here that he would be the nominee If he consented to allow al-low his name to go before the convention conven-tion but he had not reached any conclusion con-clusion yet
