| Show ANOTHER FILIPINO PLOT DOCUMENTS FOUND SHOWING ONE WAS PLANNED I It Contemplated an Uprising in Manila Ma-nila an Attack on City and Seizure of Arms and Ammunition I Washington July 21The Secretary of War has been furnished dwlth copies of some interesting documents relating relat-ing to an alleged plot against the authorities au-thorities in Manila which wer discovered discov-ered In the district of San Miguel The secret service department under Lieut Charles R Trowbridge Eleventh cavalry early In June stumbled upon an Insurgent recruiting office situated in an Isolated locality where the work might be carried on without attracting attract-ing attention One room was fitted up as an office and a large quantity of blank formu bearing the headline Republlque Fel Ipina were found in the house In a cupboard which had ben securely fastened there was fouiTa large quantity quan-tity of papers all of recqnt date tho latest being dated Juno 17th They consisted of ordjjs from Agul naldo and letters of encouragement and Instruction from tho leader and other Insurgent chiefs A document which excited a great deal of interest was oge which contained con-tained the details of a f > lot l arranged evidently early In Junexto excite an uprising in Manila Thsjjplan contemplated contem-plated an attack upon the force In the city and the seizure of arms and ammunition am-munition Another paper which Is of Interest is translated as follows We will not be slaves let the Filipinos stand together to-gether and battle for their liberties and it will not be long before the nations na-tions of the world will recognize their I strength The blood of Innumerable martyrs boars ample testimony to the I Filipinos love of freedom and their determined I de-termined purppse not to cease struggling I strug-gling for it Shall they allow the Americans Amer-icans to exercise uncontested sway over the fair Filipinos If they do then the fate of the American redmen Is theirs and eventually a reservation will be assigned to them Brothers our cause is Just therefore let us continue I asa thorn In the sideof our oppressors oppres-sors and strike Where fVc dare sparIng spar-Ing neither men womert children nor I old people Those who stay by each other in hours of adversity are sure to conquer in the end I |
