Show KING ANNOUNCEMENT I ANNOUNCEMNT I V How the Statement of His Position V is Regarded Jidge King who has been adroitly sidestepping for many weeks past whenever approached on the subject of whether he isa candidate for the l Us J or the Senate has at last broken the spell which has clung fondly about him and announced that he will be a candidate candi-date for renomlnation for the House As the Judge made his announcement I I through the columns of the Herald I after persistently refusing to declare himself to many friends it is supposed that he has made his peace with Mc Cune Many believe that the Judges hand was forced I Is understood on the Same excellent authority that stood for the announcement In the party hack yesterday morning that the Judge did not want to declare himself as yet He had not made up his mind fully he said In response to Inquiries as to his position The Judge said he was not Inn In-n the play when Congressman New lands of Nevada made his thrilling speech nominating Judge King for the Senate at Lagoon Nobody Judge King says was more surprised than he was But it apparently started something buzzing in the Judges thought department depart-ment and kept him so busy that he could not determine Just where he stood He has been labored with during the past week Dave Dunbar who ran second in the convention when King was last nominated Is said to have declared de-clared himself thuswlscr If King doesnt define his position shortly Dun bar will announce himself as a candidate candi-date for Congress but if King does come outsoon Dunbar whose love of King aurpasselh that of David will support King Will take off his coat and work f r King shedding large quantities of perspiration In behalf of King smiling cheerily all the time Dave was not the only one who had worked on the Judge Other representations represen-tations verc niade to the Judge one of them llg as follows King Is fairly popular with the people of the State and stands a good chance of dee tion as Congressman but we the Democrats have no cinch on the Legis the Lgis lature this fall though we do stand a good show of carrying tho Slate and In view of this probability King would be wise to take the Congressional nomination nom-ination or he may get nothing The announcement of the candidacy of Judge Powers who Is not one of the weak sisters of the party here is also thought to have had an electrical effect on Judge King But the partnership with McCuno is tho feature of the thing |
