honor by Mrs Murray Shepherd assisted by Misses Olive and liiHa Snyder An original and very amusing game was introduced bringing in over 100 advertising pictures pic-tures clipped from the newspapers and standard magazines These pictures were cut out and in such a manner as to leave no words which would furnish fur-nish a clue to the identity of the firm Issuing it The pictures wore numbered and exhibited to the guests who endeavored en-deavored to write down the name of the firm using the picture The game gave rise to no end of laughable incidents inci-dents It was surr > rsins how confusing confus-ing the most familiar pictures became when starated from the printed matter mat-ter describing them Rublfoam was time and again confounded with sozo dont Munyon Shores Shores and Paine ho of the celery compound fame wire confounded one with another and it was discovered that other people peo-ple say good morning besides those who wish to know if the ablutions have been performed with a certain brand of soap Complexion powders and complexion com-plexion masks wens guessed as identi ca while cod liver oil was associated with various brands of sarsaparilla and the revenue laws were violated time and again by putting cigar labels on brands where they had no right Miss Patton won first prize having guessed 42 correctly while Miss George i Smith I was compensated for her lack of I i success by an appropriate prize A very j I tasteful luncheon was served and the 1 l guests pronounced the meeting one of the most pleasant and unique parties I of the season The guests were Mesdames A has become quite a factor in social affairs especially those of a semipublic nature Not only does the organization itself give many pleasant pleas-ant events but it is the rendezvous for other organizations A most successful affair way the reception and entertainment entertain-ment given Tuesday evening under the J joint auspices of the Baptist Young Peoples Union the Bpworth League e and the local union of the Young Peoples Peo-ples Society = of Christian Endeavor l The entertainment was for the purpose of raising funds to entertain the deletes dele-tes of the national convention of Christian Endeavor who will stop over here en route to San Francisco Each I of the societies had one of the three east windows of the hall and had decorated dec-orated it tastefully Stanley McIntosh was master of ceremonies and save a j j I short address of welcome Instrumental 1 solos were given by TV O Kay and Miss Laura MInty vocal solos by Miss Mame Harrington and O W Pierce I and recitations delightful affair was given in Castle hall in honor of Canton Ogden I O O F by the j uniform rank K P The prize cup II won by the canton from the Knights in the recent drilling contest was conspicuous conspic-uous in a place of honor and was I I j draped with the choicest of flowers It v as borrowed from the winners for the I occasion and its reception was the occasion oc-casion of some pleasant
