Show THE PIONEER JUBILEE Press Bureau Established at Last Nights Meeting JUDGE COLBORN PLACED Ii CHARGE OF I Prizes of S100 Offered For the Best Musical Composition and the Best PoemThe Souvenir Cup The SemiCentennial Jubilee commission com-mission held another meeting last night at which some further details r of the coming celebration were decided upon The matter of chief consideration considera-tion was the appointment of a press agent and after full discussion in executive ex-ecutive session the press bureau was established with Judge E F Colborn in charge I The local muse is to be given encouragement en-couragement and the commission decided I de-cided to offer an award of 100 for the best poem from a local bard celebrat ive in some way of Pioneer day No conclusion was arrived at as to the exact nature of the poem or a to its brevity or lenrth I A prize of 100 is also offered for the I best original piece of music with accompanying ac-companying words and the details of this are also yet to be decided upon The elaborate CUD souvenir will be used and the president was authorized I to send in a order at once for 5000 The price at which they will be placed on sale is not yet definitely learned but assurance is given that they Will be offered at the lowest possible rate The design is unique and artistic and the cup is expected to be one of the attractive features of the celebration A proposition was received from E R Basset who offers to train 10000 school children to sing at the jubilee the details of the music to be used to be decided upon by himself The matter mat-ter was placed on file for future consideration con-sideration |
