OCR Text	Show a HYPOl HECATED THEM Treasurer Spalding Got Away With the University Endowment Bonds Chicago April 14 President McKay of the University of Illinois trustees said today that C W Spalding treasurer treas-urer of the board and president of the defunct Globe Savings bank admitted to him and to Trustee James E Armstrong Arm-strong that he had hypothecated the university endowment bonds entrusted to him as treasurer This admission of guilt Mr McKay said was made Monday Mon-day Spalding entered into no explanation explana-tion but promised a full statement later This is the first time any one in authority has openly stated that the bonds have been hypothecated
