I The Sheep That Were Lost Two men and three sheep caused some perplexity and fun at the police I station yesterday morning It seems that a ewe and two frisky lambs were left by a herd that had camped 03 tabernacle square the previous night and were claimed by a farmer by reason rea-son of their having nibbled his load of hay Another party wanted at least one of the lambs and took it The ether protested and quoted the law to the effect that a stray sheep belongs to the man who first takes charge of it Finally the man who wanted one sheep had the man who wanted three taken to the police station Neither party was in a position to swear to charges of larceny and Jailor Baxter selLled the matter by ordering the sheep taken to the pound whereupon the men and the sheep departed
