Show Continues Land Negotiations CENTERVILLE City officials have decided to con tinue negotiations with a Salt Lake land developing firm for the sale of about 108 acres of property west of the city's industrial in-dustrial park site. REALTOR BONNIE Reynolds first met with the council a couple of months ago and offered $4,000 per acre for the entire parcel. The city council denied that offer saying that the property "was worth considerably more." A real estate appraisal made for the city listed the property value at between $5,000 and $7,00fl per acre. THE PROPERTY, zoned Manufactoring-I. has no improvements im-provements and there is a large power line overa portion of the property. It is located about one-half mile west of the city's industrial park near 1400 West and north of 400 North. Councilman Ken Holman said the first question should be: does the city want to sell at this time or wait a year or two and use the money for a fire station or other improvements. improve-ments. COUNCILMAN Norman Wright said proceeds from the sale could also help in paving some city streets. City Administrator Kenncr Killpack noted that if the city sold for cash , the money could be invested and interest from the investment would pay for a lot of improvements. MS. REYNOLDS agreed to meet again with the council and make a firm offer. |
