Show Farmington to Mazatlan, on the west coast of Mexico. The group spent most of their two weeks there on the beach, swimming, sightseeing and absorbing the sunshine. The men went deep sea fishing with good luck and there were visits to the market places and shops, museums and cathedrals. cathed-rals. En route back to Farming-ton Farming-ton they spent several days in Mesa, Ariz, playing golf and enjoying more warm weather. Welcomed to Farmington is the Curtis family. Glen and Dixie Curtis and children Natalie, who attends Farming-ton Farming-ton Elementary School, Teresa Tere-sa in Kaysville Jr. High and the older sons and daughters, all students at BYU and live in Provo. They are Angie. Cher-ie. Cher-ie. Lance and Glenn. whose wife is Tammy Curtis. The family lives at 323 East State and Mr. Curtis is employed em-ployed with the government in the law enforcement division. By KATHRYN JENNINGS 451-2027 , Bill and Juanita Stathis have; returned from a visit with their son and family in Ammadale, Va. They were guests of Dr. Stephen and Barbara Stathis and children Jonathan 8. Mela-nie Mela-nie 5, Jennifer 4 and David, who was born in October 1 980. Grandfather Stathis baptized bap-tized Jonathan and David received re-ceived a blessing and his name in the LDS Ward there. Stephen earned his doctorate docto-rate at Georgetown University 1 as an American history researcher. resear-cher. He is employed at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The guests were taken on some sightseeing' trips but were limited because of inclement incle-ment weather. Ray and Barbara Evans attended the Sunday services for the naming and blessing of a grandson in a Kaysville Ward. Mark and Alyson E. Brown of Kaysville are the parents of six week old Scott Evans Brown. The Evans then came to Farmington for the baptism of an eight year old granddaughter granddaugh-ter Nicole Evans in the Rock Chapel. Nicole is the daughter of Jim and Claudette Evans. Following the service, Mr. and Mrs. Evans were guests of Jim and Claudette for dinner. The maternal grandparents, Coe and Margaret Hadden were also present and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hadden and family fami-ly of Salt Lake City. The families fami-lies also celebrated the fifth birthday of Nicole's brother Darin. The wedding anniversary anniver-sary of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Evans was also celebrated. Bill and Doris Haugen have returned from Tempe, Ariz, where they went for the funeral funer-al services of Doris' sister's husband Glen Foote. They were with the sister, Alice Foote. The Utahns were given some tours in the area and returned re-turned home with the big snow storm. Pat Osborn and Shirley O'Dell took first place in the A-doubles tennis tournament held at the Town and Country Club last week. Each winner received a trophy. Nell Estes has been hospitalized hospit-alized in the Lakeview Hospital Hospit-al for several weeks and is now recuperating at the home of a niece and nephew, Allen and Margaret Boes. Three Farmington couples have returned from a 16-day holiday to Mexico. Gordon and Evelyn Van Fleet, Newell and Wanda Wood and Vince and Bessie Hogge drove in a motor home |
