Show Considers Zoning For Frontage Road ; x. . -t : . -' X ' 7 CENTERV1LLE - Two members of the Centerville City Council, along with the city administrator, will meet to discuss types of zoning which might be used along the Interstate Inter-state Highway 15 frontage road that would be appropriate for the area. THE THREE-member committee com-mittee would then present its recommendations to the city council for further discussion and adoption. The need for a study was brought to light when Mike Allred, who is proposing a Planned Unit Development (PUD) project on property he owns along the frontage road. HE HAS asked for twin-home twin-home structures that would be fully landscaped. The city's present ordinance requires at least three acres while Mr. Allred's proposed plat encom passes only about two acres, but does include extensive planting of large trees to serve as a buffer zone to separate the homes from the freeway and reduce noise. Councilman Robert Arbuckle said he strongly favors the zoning and building of twin-homes along the frontage fron-tage road. "I think it's an excellent ex-cellent idea and would provide a lovely approach to our city." COUNCILMAN Arbuckle said he would like to see individual indi-vidual home owners take care of the trees and foliage that would be used as a buffer zone without having to organize a homeowners' association to care for the landscaping. Councilman Dale Ford suggested sug-gested that if a special zone is approved for the frontage road that it be extended from Lund Lane to Chase Lane. JACKIE BEENE McBRIDE |
