LEONARD, justice of the peace, administered the oath of office to Brent Peterson Peter-son and Merrill R. Petty who had both been appointed to the council to fill vacancies left vi hen Don Leonard and David Turner resigned from the council to accept positions in Washington. D.C. Max Forbush. city manager, explained the request of John Green to rezone his property R-2-F to R-S-F in order that he could have farm animals on his property. Councilman Jones made the motion to grant the rezone and the council approved. ANAVAR CASTANO. secretary, sec-retary, reported on the activities activi-ties of the planning commission. commis-sion. The bid opening for completion comple-tion of Grass Valley Acres subdivision sub-division was assumed by Mr. Forbush: Frank George and Sons Const. $41.82?: M.C. Green and Sons. $36,442.50: D. Thomas and Flint Const. $39,385: M.D. Kay Const. $39,505: Whitaker Const. $46,084.50: L. Marsh and Sons Inc. $37,332.50 and Eddie L. Shock Const. Co. $36,892. THE BID by M.C. Green and Sons was low. apparently, but the council tabled the awarding of the bid at the advice of Jerry Hess, city attorney, until such time that either a trustee sale or bankruptcy bank-ruptcy action was taken. Mr. Hess explained that one or the other was pending on or before Feb. 9. Dave Munk was present to object to the tabling, because, of sub-surfacing drainage problems he was e-perienceing e-perienceing in a home built in the subdivision. A PI BLIC hearing was held with Cort Lodder and Associates Associ-ates requesting reone of his property adiacent to Hillside Meadow s. R-20 to R-2. Many property owners in this area crowded the building, objecting object-ing to the plans for tw in homes. After discussion. Mr. Jones made a motion to accept the rezone. The council approved. Mick Bischoff and Associates Associ-ates appeared from the Land Group Inc. to request preliminary pre-liminary on 33 unit planned de-velopment de-velopment on Shepherd Lane. Conseptual approval was given, but tabled preliminary prelimin-ary approval, until altera public pub-lic hearing scheduled for March 5. 1981. RAY STODDARD appeared and was granted preliminary approval on a three lot subdiv i-sion i-sion along 14(H) North Street. In other action, the council appointed Steven Carpenter as the new chairman of the Farm-; ington recreation program. The council authorized Chad Hayward. deputy, to attend the police academy and also ; approved a corrected copy of a bond release. |
