James B. BrulT, 1981 county campaign chairperson, reported re-ported that more than $370,000 was raised during the campaign. cam-paign. This is an encrease of 24.0 percent over last years contributions. He applauded the efforts of campaign leaders, lead-ers, workers, and the fine support sup-port from many company executives, ex-ecutives, firm managers, and the thousands of contributors. INCOMING president, Norman Nor-man L. Beers commented on the mission and goal of United W'ay and the progress we need to make in 1982. Key campaign leaders were recognized at the luncheon. Almon J. Flake and Wayne M. Saltzgiver, campaign vice-chairmen; vice-chairmen; Kenneth Cuthbert, Cecil Campbell, . and Brent Moon as major unit chairmen. Other unit chairmen include: Dennis DeDecker, Lynn Schiffman, Ralph Larsen, Bruce Holbrook, Grant Steed, Brant Johnson, and Roy Welty assisted with the special units. TWENTY-TWO loaned leaders assisted the campaign working with major firms. Twelve other campaign workers helped with the professional pro-fessional and small business areas. Fifty-four appreciation awards were presented to those firms having an increase of 25 percent over 1980. Sixty gold awards were presented to companies having an average contribution of $20 or more with at least 50 percent of the employees contributing. SIX MAJOR contributor awards were presented to companies that contribute more than $10,000 and have 40 percent minimum employee participation. Those companies were: Fram Corporation $17,191; Chevron USA $18,788; Davis School district $22,666; Eaton-Kenway Eaton-Kenway $92,809; Associated Piping and Engineering $31,909; Max Factor and Co. $35,725. OUTGOING President, Mack G. Smith, in his closing remarks, thanked those on the board and executive committee commit-tee for their support and dedication. de-dication. He said, "It is great that even during hard times people are willing to dig deep and pledge thir support to the United Way. More than 80 United Un-ited Way agencies are providing provid-ing needed services to people along the Wasatch Front. Thanks to you, it works for all of us, The United Way." |
