Show I'- ..'f LEROY WHIPPLE Services Held In St. George ST. GEORGE - LeRoy Whipple, age 77, died August 4, 1978 at a Bountiful hospital. BORN JANUARY 14, 1901 at Pine Valley, Utah to Edgar Joah and Althea Elizabeth Jane Cooper Whipple. Married LaVem Webb Whipple, Whip-ple, November 26, 1925, Las Vegas, Nevada and the marriage was later solemnized solem-nized in the St. George LDS Temple. He was a pioneer settler of Las Vegas holding many civic and social responsibilities such as First Deputy City Clerk of Las Vegas, county treasurer of the Republican Party of Clark County, past president of Community Concert Con-cert Association of Las Vegas, associate member of Las Vegas Board of Realty. Active in scouting for 35 years. HE WAS an active member of the LDS Church serving as stake high councilor, seven--ties quorum president, Sunday Sun-day School president, Mutual president and high priest group secretary. Survivors include wife, LaVern of St. George, five children, Blaine and Evan L. Whipple of Bountiful, Mrs. Gale F. (Georgia) Hammond of Holladay; Mrs. Ernest J. (Marcia) Mennett of Alamo, Calif.; Mrs. Kyle (Sandra) Hall of Salt Lake City. 21 grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. BROTHERS, Rueben Whipple Whip-ple of Logandale, Nev.; Reed Whipple of Las Vegas, Nevada and William D. Whipple of St. George, Utah. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 8, at 2 p.m. in the St. George 12th Ward, 350 East 400 South. INTERMENT WAS in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. |
