A meeting of St. Mary's Alumnae association as-sociation was held Monday evening at the academy, when a lars-e number of the resident members gathered to organize and elect officers for the Utah State Federation Fed-eration of the International Federation of Catholic Alumnae. For some time St. Mary's alumnae have contemplated joining the federation, but only this spring could the association see its wav clear to undertake the work expected or it as -a link in the chain of 100 alumnae organizations throughout the United States and Canada, forming the International Federation of Catholic Alumnae. Mrs. William Jeffers of Omaha, an alumna "of St. Mary's, was sent as a delegate by her alma mater to the recent convention held In St. Louis. The object of the International Federation Federa-tion of Catholic Alumnae is to bring into communication thf- various distinct Catholic Cath-olic alumnae associations, for the purpose of upholding the ideals of Catholic womanhood. wom-anhood. Since the St. Mary's association was the first in Utah to join the federation, the local alumnae had the privilege of electing the governor and other officers for the state federation.
