Show Clifford I. Stubbs Funeral Services Held Wednesday Funeral service were held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Par-wan Par-wan Second ward chapel for Clifford Clif-ford J. Stubbs, 62, who died Sunday Sun-day evening in the Iron County hospital. The service were conducted con-ducted by John H. Pendleton of the Second ward bishopric. Death was caused by a heart ailment from which he had suffered for the past two years. Speakers at the services were George S. Rowley, Arthur Joseph, and Joseph E. Ward, with remarks re-marks by Mr. Pendleton. The opening prayer was by Wallace Hulet, the closing one by Thomas Tho-mas H. Rowley and at the cemetery ceme-tery the grave was dedicated by Walker Melling, brother of the deceased's wife. j Musical numbers on the program pro-gram were a solo "End of a Per-feet Per-feet Day," by Howard Knight accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. John Cross; a solo, "In The Garden," by Rula D. Orton, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Lyman, and the closing song "The Lord's Prayer," by Mrs. Cherle Day with Mrs. Ra-mona Ra-mona Stubbs at the piano. Clifford Jesse Stubbs was born here Sept. 1, 1889, a son of William Wil-liam A and Isabell Gavin Stubbs. He attended local schools and later engaged in the farming and livestock business for many years. He later was an employee of the State Road department for a number of years until his health began to fail. Mr. Stubbs married Margaret Melling of Cedar City June 3, 1914 in Parowan and the marriage mar-riage was later solemnized in the L D S temple at St. George. He was an active member of the L D S church. He is survived by his widow, of this city; five sons and daughters, daugh-ters, Roy M. Stubbs, Mrs. Dyle (Laura) Adams, Mrs. Ross (Ar-lene) (Ar-lene) Barrick, Mrs. Elmer (Lyla) Truman, all of Parowan; DeMar Stubbs, Everett, Wash.; 13 grandchildren grand-children and three brothers and three sisters, Walter and Alma Stubbs, Parowan; Edgar M. Stubbs, Cowley, Wyo.; Mrs. Maude Lyman, Otto, Wyo.; Mrs. Alvin A. Benson, Montebello, Calif., and Mrs. Joe Levy, Bell-flower, Bell-flower, Calif. Burial was made in the Parowan Paro-wan cemetery under direction of the Southern Utah mortuary. |
