Show MDA Offers Patients Free Flu Shots The Utah Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Associa-tion (MDA) is offering free anti-influenza inoculations again this year to patients who have muscular dystrophy or related neuromuscular diseases dis-eases covered by the Association's Associa-tion's programs, Pat Baker, state director of MDA, announced. OFFERED at the University of Utah Medical Center, children chil-dren and adults afflicted with neuromuscular disorders are considered at high risk of serious se-rious illness if infected with influenza in-fluenza viruses and should receive re-ceive flu shots annually as medically prescribed, she added. The Utah Chapter of the Association will pay for flu shots for all patients it serves, whether shots are administered adminis-tered by patients' personal physicians or by physicians at MDA clinics. MDA supports some 240 hospital-affiliated clinics-throughout clinics-throughout the United States and in Puerto Rico. In the Utah area the MDA clinic is located at the University of Utah Medical Center. |
