Show Beattie to seek state senate seat Lane Beattie, prominent South Davis real estate broker, has filed as a candidate for State Senator on the Republican ticket. Senate District Dis-trict No. 23, whose representation he seeks, includes Bountiful, North Salt Lake, Woods Cross and adjacent unincorporated areas. A product of Davis County schools and the University of Utah, he has been active in a variety varie-ty of civic, educational, governmental gov-ernmental and ecclesiastical affairs. C'-fK .... .. . .1 ' f I 1 ( f t LANE BEATTIE Mr. Beattie is a committee member mem-ber and spokesman for the Child Safety Council of Meadowbrook PTA; scouting coordinator, Boy Scouts of America district since 1983; has served on various civic development committees, is Area Emergency vice chairman, and was instrumental in preventing serious se-rious damage in his area during the 1983 floods. He has served four years as -a member of the governmental affairs committee, Salt Lake Board of Realtors; was 1984 chairman of the board's Meet the Candidates Committee; headed the 1986 realty board's Davis County Meet the Candidates Committee; and was 1987 South Davis County chairman, chair-man, American Home Week. Mr. Beattie is a member of the Utah Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Real-tors. He believes strongly in aggressive aggres-sive efforts to acquire additional clean industry for South Davis County to expand the tax base. He feels education remains one of our most basic and continuing concerns. con-cerns.
