After the performance the party repaired to the Perfection parlors and enjoyed refreshments. The Red Cross units met for sewing in the new quarters fitted up at the Bingham Bing-ham Commercial club rooms Tuesday evening eve-ning and on Thursday and Friday afternoons. after-noons. The Wednesday Sewing club, formerly for-merly devoted to fancy work, is also doing do-ing Red Cross sewing, the work just now engaging their attention being the making of sweaters, helmets and mittens for the naval department of Uncle Sam's forces. The committee in charge of the food conservation work in Copperfield tills week distributed the buttons furnished by the government to he worn by the housewives who have enlisted for service ser-vice in this important work, which has been taken up enthusiastically by practically prac-tically by all the homekeepers in the district. About fifty guests were present. One of the big attractions of the week was the dancing parties given at the Hot springs Friday and Saturday. Tuesday evening Miss Thelma Robinson was hostess at a charming harvest supper sup-per at her home, given in compliment to a number of her young friends who are leaving this week for school. The guests were seated around a huge bonfire built in a near-by meadow, where joy reigned supreme throughout the evening1.
