Show CELERY CONSIGNMENT ! FROM DAVIS COlIf Delicacy in Great Demand anil j Dealers Are Correspondingly Correspond-ingly Happy. A consignment of fresh celery from i Davis county put in an appearance on the produce market Wednesday. The vegetable was young and tender and was among the best which has been seen on tho local market In months. Dealers offered of-fered the delicacy at the rate of two bunches for 15 cents. There was a fairly fair-ly good di-mand for the vuricty. Cranberries Cran-berries were another specialty on the market Wednesday. The fruit was very plentiful und retailed nt 15 cents a quart. Business continued very good on the market Wednesday, there being a fair demand for all lines of eatables. Turkeys Tur-keys sold moderately well, despite the high price. Qnotntlons on ihi bird Wednesday continued at 25 to -74 ceuts a pound. Spring chickens or "broilers." as the dealers term them, sold ut 25 cents a pound. Dressed hens wero offered of-fered tit 20 cents a pound. Fresh eggs arc not hardly so scarce as they have been for several weeks. How- , ever, quotations on the product remain I unchanged, and according to the stories of some of tho dealers It is impossible to obtain strictly fresh eggs for less than 45 cents a dozen. Other dealers offer w.hat they claim to be strictly fresh eggs as low ns 10 cents a dozen. |
