Show ENTERTAINMENT GIVEN AT ST. MARY'S ACADEMY The spirit of Christmus was fully emphasized em-phasized last Friday, when Terpsichore and Orpheus hold their annual reunion in the spacious hall of Iho academy, and, with song and fantastic step, gave expression to the joy which inundated the hearts of the juvenile participants. Christinas being the feast par excel lence of tlta little ones, the programme opened with a pretty song by the minims, min-ims, entitled, "Santa- Js Coming' (heir faces beaming with happv anticipation. "Christmas Fairies." by the juniors, presented a veritable fairv scene. Tho reputation of (he department of music is so well established that the very best in I he world of tone is looked for' bv the friends and patrons who honor "tho young ladies' efforts by their presence. "Of exceptional merit mi this occasion was tho violin solo. "Faust," by Miss Helen Hughes. Tho artistic execution of Talberg's "Hoine, Sweet Homo," by Miss Goldie Morrisou, as well as her acknowledgment of I he repeated re-peated encores by Chopin's Waltz in D fiat, proved her master- of the piano. "Cinderella March," by tho violin orchestra, or-chestra, was rendered with taste and precision by (ho St. Cecilia club. The vocal Class rendered with excellent excel-lent effect "All tho Earth Is Clad Again" and "Mary's Manger Song." Miss Katharine Brcnnan charmed all present bv her exquisite solo. "Angels From Realms Above." "Calm On the Listening Ear of Night," by the vocal class, closod Iho entertainment., which was enjoyed by a very select, cultured audience. |
