Show Si HIT HARD 01 EMERYVILLE RACES Favorites Are Successful in Majority of Events; Muddy Track. OAKLAND, Dec. 23. Favorites were again successful at Emeryville today and the thirty-one layers in lino were hit hard. The weather was foggy and the track muddy. In the first race St. Francis, Fran-cis, an odds-on choice, scored an easy victory over Lady Carol. Third money went to Duke of Orleans, a 75 to 1 chance. Yankee Daughter was plunged on in the second race and beat Cowen easily. Fullotta. winner of the third, was bid up from $400 to 5350 by E. J. Ramsey, but was retained. Cambyscs. favorite for the fifth, made a poor showing, show-ing, finishing outside the money.
