Show NO YACHT RACE WILL BE HELD IN 1909 NEW VOItK, Dec. 23. It seems practically prac-tically certain that there will bo no International In-ternational cup raco this year. Inasmuch ih the time limit surrounding the deed of pfft has Practically expired. It b stipulated stipu-lated in the deed that at least ten months notice of a challenge be given, while no race shall be held between November 1 and May 1. This would make it necessary "or ; tho New York Yacht club to receive a challenge before the end of this month, which Is considered so Improbable in vachtlric circles that the belief of no race in 190D has become an accepted facu Tho reason that thero will be no International In-ternational race during the coming year is attributable principally to the lallure of the Nw York Yacht crub to agree to certain cer-tain changes in the rules governing the co!wt?Sel"oi of boats which have been suggested from time to time by sir Thomas Llpton. who stood ready to challenge chal-lenge If such changes were agreed upon. |
