Show RAILROAD II BEGIN 10 ACCHT WEEK' All Employees of Western-Central Western-Central Division to Be Warned Hourly. Several hundred thousand employees and officials of the central-western division of the United States railroad administration will open an intensive drive at noon today in behalf of ' ' No Accident Week," inaugurated by Hale Holden, head of the' division. Every man, from the superintendent to the smallest office boy, will .be advised almost hourly to "be careful." J. C. Clarke, head of the "no-accident" movement on the combined Oregon Ore-gon Short Line and Salt Lake Route, is at present in Pocatello lending his personal supervision to the big shops there. It is generally considered that Pocatello is the most likely point of danger. Several associates in the work with Mr. Clarke were dispatched over the entire system to give lectures and motion pictures each day. By request of the safety-first men, the ministers of the territory covered by the Salt Lake Route and Oregon Short Line will make the subject of their sermons today "Safety First." Glaring posters, picturing pic-turing scenes where accidents invariably occur, have been sent broadcast over the country. Personal letters from Hale Holden have been received almost dailv for the past two weeks by Clarke, urging that every possible effort be put forth to make the thing a success. The various regions under federal control are staging stag-ing a similar move, and the official comparison will be published throughout through-out the country. |
