Show BIG STRIKE IS IDE ON FLORENCE DIVIDE High Grade Gold Ore Found on Goldneld Property Prop-erty Causes Excitement. "One of the most vontlerful discoveries of Kfld-beartnkr ore that have occurred in southern Nevada i:i years is now showing show-ing on the lense held y the Florence Divide Mining- company on the Florence mine at Goldfield," says the Tonopah Daily Times. "Imagine, if you can, a vein of or having- a width of eighteen inches, four and one-half inches of which ts worth on an averape of $5 a pound in the yellow metal, the balance of the streak being termed low gTade, but worth $175 a ton, and you have some idea of the magnitude of this mineral find. "While great secrecy was maintained concerning this discovery by reason of the fact that the miners employed threatened threat-ened to strike unless the facts were withheld with-held two days, the company management decide.d yesterday that the vorid should be advised immediately concerning tho great event in mining that promises to bring Goldfield back on tho map. and accordingly gave out tho news without hesitancy. "The high-grade ore is now being segregated, seg-regated, and there is ready for shipment at this writing two cars of the so-called low-grade ore. wit h a great quantity of the sacked high grade. This shipment will bring the Florence Divide Mining company a revenue of between $75,000 and 5 1 00,000, and tho product is to be marketed immediately. This wonderfully wonder-fully rich body of ore is showing in tho stope carried from the 500-foot level and ia exposed for a length of twelve feet. It is unquestionably the continuation of the famous Rogers ore shoot that created a sensation throughout the world during the boom days of Goldfield. The stope was sixty feet long, whence the former owners of the lease, Taylor, Witt and associates, as-sociates, produced so much high-grade ore, bue little work has been performed during the past two weeks owing to the plant of machinery, including hoist, having hav-ing been put out of commission by being be-ing struck by lightning. The repairs have been made and now everything is in readiness for the prosecution of a more energetic campaign than heretofore. "The Florence Divide company controls the Florence group of claims in the Divide Di-vide district, and active development is now being carried forward upon this estate. es-tate. Te machinery plant and hoist for the property are now being installed, and there is a scene of activity in evidence that augurs well for the future of the property. John H. Miller, the moving spirit in the company, is authority for the statement, and this is vouched for by Dr. A. H. Elftman, that a monster ledge is exposed in the fifty-foot shaft that shows occasional seams of good-grade ore. It is anticipated that within a short time a change in the formation may occur, and no surprise will result in the event a pay body of ore puts in its appearance. "The Florence Divide Mining company will possibly become the first dividend-raying dividend-raying proposition in the Divide district. The eranings that are resulting in the Florence lease will naturally sweeten the treasury to a marked extent, and, at the same time, permit of extensive development develop-ment being carried forward upon the Divide Di-vide holdings, the showing of which equals any prospect in- the district. "The men officering the Florence Divide Mining company are boosters of the most pronounced type; they are mine builders constructionists in the true sense and it Is with a feeling of satisfaction that the Times is able to furnish authentic news concerning the developments that are going forward on the mineral estates controlled." |
