Show Coffee Futures. NEW YORK, June 21. There was a further excited advance In the market for coffee futures today which carried the price of December deliveries up to 22.50c. The advance was stopped at this level by the exchange rule limiting the price movement to 150 points for any one day, but buyers remained in evidence owing to the sensational strength of Brazil, and tho close shewed the maximum gains on all the active positions. The market opened 83 to 90 points higher high-er on the strong early cables, reacted about 40 points on a special cable reporting re-porting a setback in Santos futures, but later another cable was received showing renewed strength, and prices here advanced ad-vanced from 22.30c to 23.05c for September Septem-ber and from 21.60c to 22.50c for December. Decem-ber. The close was 135 points net higher on June and 150 points net higher on all other deliveries. July, 23.15c; September, Sep-tember, 23.05c; October, 22.86c; December, Decem-ber, 22.50c; January, 22.45c; March; 22.33c; May, 22.23c. Spot coffee, nominal; Rio 7s were said to be offered at 22 "ic ex ship, but the market was unsettled by the big fluctuations fluctu-ations in futures and no firm quotations were available. No fresh offers were reported in the cost and freight market. |
