Show BIGGEST NET MEET IN YEARS PROMISED CHICAGO, June 21. The large number of entries which have been received up to, tonight for the national clay court tennis championships, to be held here the week of July 12 to July 19, Indicate that the tournament will be the greatest since the clay court fixture was launched, nine years ago, according to R. L. Van Arsdale, president of the South Side Tennis club. Among the first to respond were William Wil-liam T. Tilden II of Philadelphia and Vincent S. Richards of Yonkers, N. Y., 101 S national lawn tennis champions. They will come to Chicago after the annual an-nual east and west sectional team championships cham-pionships at Cincinnati, the work before the clay court opens. They will be accompanied ac-companied by William M, Johnston of San Francisco, national singles champion in 1915, and two fellow Californians, Axel Grave, the sensational player who represented the University of California during the recent season, and Robert Kinsey, a San Francisco star. The PaT citlc coast players are to compete at Cincinnati, Cin-cinnati, as representatives of the west. |
